Station Mascot:

Station events: 1950 - U.S. Air Force constructed the chain for training of pilots and navigators for the Northern Canadian Arctic chain. May 10, 1951 the chain on air operation 24 hour service. August 30th declared operational.

1954 - The Arctic chain project was abandon. The U.S Air Force proposed to turn over the chain to the U.S. Coast Guard with funding until the 1957 budget.

18 FEB 1955 - U.S. Coast Guard formally accepted the Gulf of Mexico chain.

1975 - Station evacuated due to hurricane forecast.
